1. Keep Your Account Secure:
I can’t stress enough how important it is to secure your account. I often receive requests from individuals who have lost access to their accounts due to inadequate security measures. Ensure you have a secure password and always enable two-factor authentication for your account.
2. The Type of Access Needed for Each Task:
Never authorise direct access to your account. For example, on Facebook, there are three types of access: employee or partial access, admin access or full access, and ownership access. While Facebook mentions only two, the third type is ownership access. The only difference is that an admin can become an owner within seven days and has the ability to remove you from your own business account.
3. Secure Your Data:
When starting a business, your most valuable asset is your data about your clients. Ensure it’s secure, as it will save you a lot of money later when you start advertising on any platform.
4. Build Your Email List:
Email will never die; it may change its format, but it will always be there. Therefore, after creating your website and before making it live, ensure there’s an email marketing tool in place to collect emails. Otherwise, you’ll be leaving a lot of money on the table.
5. Invest More In Free Sources of Traffic:
The easier you make it for customers to find your products, the more orders you will receive. Invest early in any sources of free traffic. One of the most important ones, regardless of whether you’re selling physical or digital products, is enabling the shopping feature on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google, Pinterest, etc.
